Gaining Perspective

Squaw Peak

I’ve learned that everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.

Run for beer

Robynn was out in DC last week and she was enjoying a relaxing walk when she saw this running full speed in her direction:

Storm trooper in a red dress

Was it a kinky dream? Maybe someone had snuck into her room and read her diary to recreate her fantasy. But no, it was just a coincidence.

Run for beer

Apparently there is a charity fun run in DC every year called “Run for beer” where all the runners wear red dresses and somehow that raises money for charity while they drink beer. Awesome!

men and women alike

UPDATE: Robynn wrote in to point out that the Red Dress Run is actually not for charity. You can find their website here.

Rock Awesome Graffiti @ the Ruins

Seeing as the ruins have been ruins for the last 50+ years it seemed like a good place to practice tagging art. I don’t remember who all did which ones and I don’t remember their tag names so in no particular order with credit to paintjunkie, gthing, America and friends we proudly present graffitis for your viewing pleasure.

Guy-in-suit Star Fire-reaper fire Ender-shroom Ballon-boy Dirty-west-grill gthing-strength

Gthing made the discovery of a lot of VHS crew tags and we were pondering the meaning of that when he discovered their anti-crew, the BETAMAX crew. Betamax totally pwn’d VHS by tagging over their stuff and even posting anti-drug graffitis.

Betamax Betamax-infamous

Somewhere in the valley these two crews must be battling for “respekt”, saying things like “you got served!” and “yo.” Watch out for these colloquial urbanites; they could be dangerous.

If the artists would like to claim their work, leave a comment on the linked flickr page with your tagging name.

The Springville Ruins

There is a new mystery. Where did the Springville ruins come from? Who built them and why? Better yet, why were they destroyed? Read on and hear my crazy photo tale. Well, it’s not that crazy but it is cool and there are lots of pictures.

Last Friday on my way home from work I cruised around and took some pictures. I had just about finished and the sun was setting fast when out of the corner of my eye I saw a decrepit old run down barn. I pulled over and walked across the field to snap this picture.

Man on Fire and the Rorschach

Jon helped me snap a couple photos of a Bonfire and I really liked how everything came out, check it. The first one is available for print, if someone wants the other ones just ask.

I turned some of them into designs
